Bengaluru, Oct. 7 -- Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar today said the Karnataka government has decided to extend the deadline for the ongoing caste-based household survey by ten days, following requests from officials and limited participation in several urban areas.

Speaking to media, Shivakumar said the data collection under the Karnataka State Commission for Backward Classes had started late in Greater Bengaluru and other regions, resulting in only 20-30 per cent completion in some areas, while participation in others remained below expectations.
