Prayagraj, April 10 -- Justice Yashwant Verma of the Allahabad High Court, against whom Parliament initiated inpeachment process, has sent his resignation to President Droupadi Murmu.
The judge was involved in a controversy after bundles of currency notes were found burnt in a fire at his Delhi residence on March 14, 2025.
Following this controversy, he was transferred from the Delhi High Court to the Allahabad High Court. He was sworn in at the Allahabad High Court on April 5, 2025. However, he was not given any responsibility. He was kept away from judicial work until the investigation against him was completed.
