Varanasi, Sept. 3 -- A case has been registered against former minister Swami Prasad Maurya for alleged objectionable remarks on Tulsidas ji and Ramcharitmanas at Cantt police station of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.

"The petition filed by advocate Ashok Kumar Singh, on August 4, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Neeraj Kumar Pathak of MP-MLA Court, ordered the Cantt police station to register a case and investigate," police sources said.

The petitioner said that Swami Prasad Maurya had made objectionable remarks on Tulsidas ji and Ramcharitmanas in an interview to a reputed news channel in January 2023.
