Mumbai, Nov. 2 -- A case has been registered against the organisers of the 'Satyacha Morcha' for allegedly holding the rally without police permission.

The Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has strongly criticised the police action.

The Satyacha Morcha was organised jointly yesterday by the Maha Vikas Aghadi and the MNS to protest against alleged irregularities in the voters' lists, including bogus and duplicate registrations. Despite repeated requests, the police did not grant permission for the rally.

Subsequently, a case was registered at the Azad Maidan Police Station for an unlawful assembly.

Reacting sharply, MNS General Secretary Sandeep Deshpande questioned the selective action of the police.
