Chandigarh, Nov. 13 -- Punjab Police have registered a case against Kanchanpreet Kaur, daughter of Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) candidate Sukhwinder Kaur Randhawa, and another individual, Karan Gill, for allegedly violating Election Commission guidelines during the Tarn Taran Assembly bypoll.
The FIR was lodged at Sarai Amanat Khan police station under sections 174 and 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Section 136(2) of the Representation of the People Act, and provisions of the Repeal Sedition Act, 1951. Police officials confirmed that arrest proceedings against both accused have been initiated.
