Chennai, Dec. 4 -- Carcasses of two old elephants and a baby elephants werefound in a decayed state at a forest area in Vellore division, even as the Tamil Nadugovernment deputed special teams to collect the samples.

A Forest department release said "We have received an information today, from theDistrict Forest Officer, Vellore, that during proactive perambulation by field staff insidethe private forest named Bhaimala, near one water hole, where the DFO found twoold Carcasses of elephant and one calf in a decayed state."The private forest is juxtaposed to the Kondapalli Reserved Forests of Vellore divisionand is also near the Koundinya Wildlife Sanctury of Andhra Pradesh.
