Pilibhit (UP), March 28 -- The carcass of a leopard was recovered from the Mala Range area of Pilibhit Tiger Reserve (PTR) here in Uttar Pradesh on Friday, the Forest Department sources said here.

Sources said that after the carcass of the leopard was seen floating in the minor canal of Chudaila Banjaria village at 8 AM, the villagers informed the Forest Department about it. Doctor of PTR Dr Daksh Gangwar said that the post-mortem of the leopard's carcass will be done on Friday itself, and only after that something could be said.

Divisional Forest Officer (Social Forestry) Bharat Kumar said that a team of the Forest Department was sent to the spot as soon as the information was received.
