Washington, Oct. 20 -- One person was killed and 13 others injured after a car plowed into a birthday party crowd on Saturday evening in Maryland, police said Sunday.

A man drove a car into a crowd of people attending a child's birthday party in front of a house in Bladensburg, a town in Prince George's County, Maryland, injuring 14 people, according to police and media reports.

A 31-year-old woman died of her injuries in the hospital. And the 13 others injured were five adults and eight children aged 1-17, with at least three adults and one child being hospitalized.
