Chandigarh, Oct. 14 -- The Amritsar rural police arrested a youth who recently returned from Canada and recovered a cache of illegal weapons and ammunition from his possession. The accused is identified as Amarbeer Singh alias Amar.
Police said a team from Gharyinda police station carried out the operation and recovered six .30-bore pistols, 91 live cartridges (.30 bore), 20 live cartridges (9 mm), and 11 magazines.
Officials said that during questioning, it was revealed that the accused had links with Pakistan-based smugglers and was planning to supply weapons in different parts of Punjab.
