Aizawl, Feb. 10 -- Canvassing for election to 544 village councils (VCs) in 9 districts of Mizoram and 111 local councils (LCs), ended at 4 PM on Monday.
The election is scheduled to be held from 7 AM to 4 PM on Wednesday.
State election commissioner H. Lalthlangliana expressed satisfaction that no untoward incident has been reported during the hustings and that he expects peaceful, free and fair polls on Wednesday as had been done in all the elections in the state.
He said that no election campaign in any forms is allowed during the 'silent period' beginning from 4 PM on Monday till 4 PM on Wednesday.
