Bengaluru, Oct. 1 -- Calls are growing within the Congress for the party high command to formally recognise Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar's pivotal role in Karnataka's 2023 assembly election victory, even as Chief Minister Siddaramaiah reiterated that he will serve the full five-year term.

Kunigal MLA HD Ranganath described Shivakumar as his "political guru" and urged the leadership to acknowledge his efforts in securing a commanding 140-seat majority for the Congress. "Every leader today says that Congress got 140 seats due to his efforts. So the party high command should decide due position and recognition for him," Ranganath said.
