Kolkata, Oct. 14 -- The Calcutta High Court sought a detailed report from the West Bengal government today regarding the alleged attack on BJP MP Khagen Murmu and party MLA Shankar Ghosh in Jalpaiguri earlier this month.
Justice Shampa Dutt (Paul), who heard the matter, directed the police to submit the case diary related to the incident before the court. The next hearing has been scheduled for October 27 at the Jalpaiguri Circuit Bench.
The incident took place on October 6, when Murmu and Ghosh were visiting flood-affected areas in North Bengal. As they reached Nagarakata in Jalpaiguri district, a large crowd allegedly confronted them with sticks and shoes.
