Kolkata, Dec. 24 -- The Calcutta High Court's Division Bench on Wednesday granted an interim stay on the cancellation of jobs of 313 teachers appointed under the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA), providing temporary relief to the affected educators in the hills.
The interim order comes in response to a challenge against a December 17 judgment of a single bench, which had directed the termination of services of 313 teachers, terming their recruitment process illegal.
The Division Bench, headed by Justice Tapabrata Chakraborty, heard the matter and ordered that the stay on the single bench's directive would remain in force for 12 weeks.
