Kolkata, July 7 -- The Calcutta High Court on Monday directed that all tainted or ineligible candidates must be excluded from the ongoing recruitment process conducted by the School Service Commission (SSC).

Justice Saugata Bhattacharya made it clear that if any such ineligible individuals have already submitted applications, those must be cancelled immediately.

The order comes in response to the SSC's new recruitment notice, issued following the Supreme Court's recent directive that led to the cancellation of over 26,000 teaching and non-teaching jobs due to widespread corruption in the 2016 recruitment process.

The High Court stressed that the fresh recruitment must strictly comply with the Supreme Court's instructions.
