Aizawl, Sept. 9 -- The Comptroller & Auditor General of India (CAG) has raised serious concerns over the Mizoram government's failure to uphold financial propriety, criticising the state for improper salary payments totalling Rs. 80.88 lakh to six employees of the Power & Electricity Department who were absent from duty without authorisation.

The employees had even arranged for proxies to carry out their duties in their place, circumventing official procedures.
