New Delhi, April 19 -- On World Liver Day, liver specialists warned that rising consumption of energy drinks, rich in caffeine, taurine, sugar and chemical additives, is increasingly contributing to liver damage among young adults, with doctors reporting a surge in early-stage liver disease cases.

Backed by clinical observations and global scientific evidence, experts said the trend is gaining pace, with younger patients presenting with liver dysfunction far earlier than previously seen.
