Srinagar, March 28 -- Security forces recovered a cache of arms and ammunition in a forest area of Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district, police said on Friday.
They said Baramulla Police, along with Army's 46 Rashtriya Rifles and 53 battalion of CRPF, launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) in the Namblan forest area during which a significant cache of arms and ammunition was recovered.
The recovered items included two Chinese hand grenades, 104 AK-47 rounds, two AK-47 magazines (one damaged), six pieces of RDX, one detonator set with wire, a pouch, two pithoo bags and a pressure IED.
"The timely operation prevented the possible misuse of these arms and ammunition for unlawful activities," police said.
