Srinagar, Aug. 28 -- J&K Police elite counter insurgency unit- Special Operation Group (SOG)- today recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition from a forest area in Handwara sub-district of north Kashmir.

According to police, the recovery was made by SOG during a search operation in the forest belt of Bhuvan Rajwar, where the items had been buried underground.

The seized material includes 22 UBGL grenades, one UBGL, 15 rounds of AK-47 ammunition, and around half a kilogram of black powdered substance suspected to be explosive.

Police also recovered a gas cylinder, a portable stove, a frying pan, three tarpaulins, groceries, a pair of shoes, utensils, and about half a litre of weapon cleaning oil.
