Patna, June 3 -- The Bihar cabinet on Tuesday gave its nod for filling up 4799 posts of various categories in different government Departments.

The approval was given in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) S Siddharth told news persons here that a maximum of 2361 posts of different categories have been created in the Education Department, followed by 1350 posts in the Urban Development and Housing Department.

He said that the cabinet approved the Education Department's proposal for the creation of 1503 posts that included 568 posts of Education Development Officer and 935 posts of Assistant Education Development Officer under Bihar Education Administrative Cadre Rules 2025.
