Cabinet defers decision on RCB stampede
Bengaluru, July 18 -- The Karnataka government has deferred its decision on action against the organisers of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) IPL victory celebration that resulted in a stampede on June 4, leaving 11 dead and over 50 injured outside M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The cabinet received the final two-volume report by retired High Court judge Justice John Michael Cunha but decided to study it further before taking action. "The cabinet has received the report. We will study and take a decision in the next meeting," Law Minister HK Patil told reporters.
