New Delhi, Aug. 19 -- The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, today approved the construction of a 6-lane access-controlled Capital Region Ring Road (Bhubaneswar Bypass) in Odisha, spanning 110.875 km.
Addressing a press conference here, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the project will be executed under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) with a total capital investment of Rs 8,307.74 crore.
He said currently, connectivity between Rameshwar to Tangi on the existing National Highway experiences significant congestion due to high traffic volumes, passing through highly urbanised cities Khordha, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
