New Delhi, Sept. 24 -- The union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the 'Capacity Building and Human Resource Development' scheme of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), with a total outlay of Rs 2,277.397 crore for the 15th Finance Commission cycle (2021-22 to 2025-26).

The scheme, to be implemented by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), is designed to strengthen India's capabilities in Science, Technology & Engineering, Medical, and Mathematical Sciences (STEMM), through structured support for human capital development.
