New Delhi, April 8 -- The union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the Jaipur Metro Phase-2 project, a 41-km-long North-South corridor aimed at significantly expanding urban connectivity in the Rajasthan capital and easing traffic congestion.
Announcing the decision, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the transformative 41 Km long North-South corridor from Prahladpura to Todi Mod, will be developed at a total cost of Rs 13,037.66 crore and will include 36 stations.
"The project will be implemented by Rajasthan Metro Rail Corporation Limited, a 50:50 joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of Rajasthan," he said while briefing reporters after the Cabinet meeting.
