New Delhi, Dec. 24 -- The union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the addition of three new corridors to the Delhi Metro network as part of the Phase VA expansion, union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw announced at a press briefing today.
The approved corridors include Ramakrishna Ashram Marg to Indraprashtha, Aerocity to IGI Airport-1, and Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj. The expansion project is estimated to cost Rs 12,015 crore and is expected to be completed within three years.
"With this significant expansion, the Delhi Metro network will surpass 400 kilometers in length, further strengthening its position as the second largest metro network globally," said Minister Vaishnaw.
