Kolkata, March 11 -- West Bengal witnessed a swift transition in the Raj Bhavan (Lok Bhavan) on Wednesday as outgoing Governor C. V. Ananda Bose left the state and his successor R.N. Ravi arriving within a few hours of each other.

Ravi is scheduled to take oath as the new Governor at the Lok Bhavan on Thursday morning.

Bose, who tendered his resignation to the President while in Delhi, had returned to Kolkata last Sunday. He stayed in the city for a few days before departing on Wednesday afternoon for his home state of Kerala.

Before leaving, he received a formal farewell from the state government.
