Belagavi, Feb. 23 -- Bus services between Karnataka and Maharashtra have been severely impacted following a series of violent incidents targeting bus drivers from both states amid the ongoing border dispute in Belagavi. The dispute escalated after a Karnataka bus conductor was assaulted at Marihal in Belagavi for allegedly not speaking Marathi. In a further development, the conductor was later booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act following a complaint lodged by a minor girl involved in the altercation. In retaliation, a Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus driver was assaulted and blackened at Guyilal in Hiriyur Taluk, Chitradurga district.
