Bulandshahr, Aug. 1 -- A local court today delivered its verdict in the high-profile 2018 Syana violence case, sentencing five individuals to life imprisonment for the murder of Inspector Subodh Kumar. Additionally, 33 others were sentenced to seven years in prison for their involvement in rioting, arson, and attempted murder.

The judgment was pronounced at 5:45 PM by the district court, a day after all 38 accused were convicted.

The court had reserved August 1 for the sentencing. Those sentenced include a district panchayat member, a village head, leaders from the BJP and Nishad Party, and a city-level office-bearer of the RSS.
