Budihal wins India's first individual medal at Asian Surfing Championships
Mahabalipuram, Aug. 10 -- India's Ramesh Budihal created history by winning the bronze medal in the open men's event at the Asian Surfing Championships 2025, held on the beaches of Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu, on Sunday.
This achievement marks the first-ever individual medal for India in the continental surfing championships.
In a thrilling four-man final, Budihal scored 12.60 points to secure third place, finishing ahead of Indonesia's Mega Artana, who scored 9.97 points. South Korea's Kanoa Heejae won the gold with 15.17 points, while Indonesia's Pajar Ariyana took silver with 14.57 points.
