New Delhi, Feb. 1 -- Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman while presenting the Budget for 2025-26 in the Lok Sabha on Saturday proposed to further rationalise custom duty structure to support local manufacturing and value addition, promote exports, facilitate trade and provide relief to common people.
The proposed move makes certain goods cheaper while some of them get costlier.
Accordingly, as many as 36 life-saving drugs for cancer and chronic diseases will get cheaper as they will be fully exempted from Basic Customs Duty (BCD).
