Srinagar, Nov. 29 -- Jammu & Kashmir BJP General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul on Saturday said the recent Budgam byelection underscored the growing acceptance of the BJP in Kashmir, claiming it reflects a significant shift in public sentiment towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.

The ruling National Conference (NC) lost the Budgam bypoll to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by over 4,000 votes. The BJP's candidate, Aga Syed Mohsin, secured 2,619 votes.

Days after the results, BJP General Secretary Ashok Koul, chaired a review meeting with the State Executive Members and senior party leaders at Srinagar.
