Shimla, Sept. 26 -- Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is set to transform rural telecommunication services in Himachal Pradesh by switching over to high-speed optical fiber networks and expanding connectivity to remote areas.
Under its ambitious drive, BSNL has connected 498 locations in the state and will provide broadband access to 3,615 Gram Panchayats through optical fiber. This step is expected to revolutionize online education, healthcare, employment, e-governance, and business opportunities in far-flung villages of the hill state. Plans are also underway to extend the service to more than 15,000 villages in the near future.
