Thiruvananthapuram, Sept. 30 -- Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced plans to expand its Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) network in Thiruvananthapuram district to cross the one-lakh mark by the end of this year, as part of a broader push to strengthen connectivity and digital services.

At present, the district has 67,322 FTTH connections, including 39,770 in urban areas and 27,602 in rural regions. The Circle serves 5.7 lakh subscribers and has rolled out 4G coverage at 743 sites, including 27 tribal locations under the national 4G saturation project.

To further boost network capacity, 83 additional mobile towers are being installed. Under its popular Freedom Plan, 17,225 new customers have joined BSNL in the district.
