New Delhi, Aug. 2 -- The Border Security Force (BSF) on Saturday, flagged off a 34-day mountaineering expedition at the BSF Institute of Adventure and Advanced Training (BIAAT) in Doiwala, Dehradun.

The expedition, led by Padma Shri awardee and seven-time Everest summiteer Deputy Commandant Loveraj Singh Dharamshaktu, aims to scale four peaks in the Lahaul and Ladakh region-Mt. Yunam (6,111m), Mt. Thugje (6,128m), Mt. Thugje East (6,080m), and Mt. Mentok (6,250m).

The mission honors 13 BSF mountaineers who lost their lives during a 1995 expedition to Mt. Saser Kangri-I (7,672m) in the Karakoram Range. It also supports the "Swachh Bharat - Clean Himalaya" and "Hum FIT To INDIA FIT" campaigns by collecting waste from high-altitude camps (...
