Srinagar, Aug. 1 -- A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan went missing from his Battalion Headquarters at Panthachowk on the outskirts of Srinagar, officials said.
They said that the Constable (General Duty) Sugam Choudhary, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, posted in 'C' Company of 60 Battalion BSF, went missing last evening.
"Despite search efforts in nearby areas, including bus and taxi stands and the Nowgam Srinagar railway station, he could not be traced. A missing report has been lodged at Police Station Panthachowk by the unit," officials said.
A senior BSF official ruled out any subversive angle. "He may have fled the headquarters due to some personal issues," he said.
