Hyderabad, Feb. 13 -- Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K T Rama Rao (KTR) on Friday said the party had emerged as the principal opposition force in Telangana through its performance in the municipal elections and had demonstrated its ability to challenge both the ruling Congress and the BJP.

Talking to the media at Telangana Bhavan, he thanked party workers, leaders and voters for standing by the BRS.

KTR alleged that despite the Congress government's use of money power, liquor and misuse of official machinery, it failed to secure a sweeping mandate.
