Shimla, Sept. 2 -- Continuous heavy rainfall has left Pangi, the tribal subdivision of Chamba district, cut off from the rest of the region since August 24.
The valley's main road, maintained by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), has suffered extensive damage.
In addition, the culvert near Siddha Mandir has collapsed due to the rains, halting vehicular movement near the main valley bridge at Mahalu Nala.
"The main bridge, Gharwas, has also been damaged, due to which people are facing a lot of difficulty in commuting," Resident Commissioner Pangi Raman Gharsangi said in a press release.
He said that the Border Roads Organisation is working on a war footing to restore the road.
