London, Aug. 18 -- British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is reportedly ready to back a Russia-Ukraine peace deal without ceasefire being a pre-requisite measure, reports The Guardian.

While speaking on the results of the Anchorage summit between Russian President Vladmir Putin and US President Donald Trump, Starmer had welcomed the outcome of the negotiations, notably the emphasis on establishing total peace instead of a ceasefire.

Regarding 10 Downing Street's position on the matter, he said, "We've always said we want to see a sustainable and just peace for Ukraine. One that ensures peace returns to Europe and the Ukrainian people can live without fear of attack again."
