Basti, Nov. 21 -- A newly married woman allegedly conspired with her lover to murder her husband just seven days after their wedding at Bedi Pur village in Basti district, police said on Friday.
Police have arrested the prime accused, while the bride has been taken into custody for her involvement, officials said.
According to police, the victim, Anish (25), son of Shamsuddin, had married Rukhsana (20) from Gonda on November 13. Anish, who worked as a crane operator in Mumbai, had returned to his village for the wedding on November 10.
Police said Rukhsana had been in relationship with Rinku (22), a man from her village, for the past two years. Their affair continued even after her marriage.
