Rio De Janeiro, July 6 -- The authority and influence of BRICS in the world are growing from year to year, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Sunday.
"The authority and influence of our association in the world are growing from year to year. BRICS has rightfully established itself among the key centers of global governance," Putin said via video link during the plenary session of the BRICS summit in Rio de Janeiro.
The president added that BRICS outperforms some associations in terms of purchasing power parity.
"By this indicator, BRICS significantly surpasses some other associations, including the Group of Seven [G7], which stands at $57 trillion," Putin said.
