New Delhi, Sept. 8 -- The thief who allegedly stole a gold and diamond-studded kalash (ritual urn) worth about Rs one crore from the premises of August Kranti Park (outside Red Fort) during a religious ceremony, was held by the Crime Branch of Delhi Police on Saturday night, officials told UNI.
The accused was identified as Bhushan Verma, a resident of UP's Hapur district.
The Crime Branch is also conducting raids in Ghaziabad and in nearby areas in this connection. The thief was caught on CCTV. Later he was identified and several teams were pressed into service to nab him.
