New Delhi, Aug. 7 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva spoke on the phone today, during which they discussed the international economic situation and the imposition of unilateral tariffs, in reference to US President Donald Trump slapping India with 50 percent tariffs. The two leaders also reaffirmed the importance of defending multilateralism and to explore possibilities for greater integration between the two countries. An Indian readout of the phone conversation said that PM Modi received a phone call from the Brazil President.
