Buenos Aires, Aug. 6 -- Brazilian authorities have submitted a request for consultations at the World Trade Organization (WTO) over tariffs imposed by the United States, the Folha de S.Paulo newspaper reported on Wednesday.
The Brazilian government reportedly believes that the US tariffs do not comply with a number of WTO commitments.
On July 30, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order increasing tariffs on Brazilian products to 50%, while also also introducing a list of 700 exceptions in strategic sectors such as aviation, energy and partially agriculture.
