Mexico City, July 2 -- The Brazilian government has again raised import duties on electric and hybrid vehicles to support local manufacturers, setting rates from 25% to 30%, Brazilian media reported.

The increase in import duties on hybrids, plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles is part of a previously approved plan to gradually restore rates to make cars assembled in Brazil more attractive, the G1 news portal reported on Tuesday.

According to the government's schedule, the tax for all types of electrified vehicles will be 35% by July 2026.
