Bengaluru/Kalaburagi, Feb. 2 -- Senior Congress MLA BR Patil has resigned from his position as the political adviser to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, triggering fresh turmoil within the party ranks.

Patil, a seasoned politician and known loyalist of Siddaramaiah, submitted his resignation citing no specific reasons but affirmed his commitment to continue serving as an MLA.

"I have resigned from the position of CM's political adviser. My resignation has already been submitted to the Chief Minister. However, I will continue to serve as an MLA and do not require any official post," Patil told reporters.
