Palamu, Oct. 13 -- The Palamu Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) team today arrested Ajay Bharti, Block Programme Manager (BPM) of the Latehar Community Health Centre, while accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 as part of anti corruption drive.
The accused was caught red-handed during a trap operation conducted at the health centre premises.
According to official sources, ANM Leelawati Kumari, posted at a sub-health centre under Latehar block, was accused of negligence in duty. Following departmental inquiry, she was found innocent, but BPM Ajay Bharti allegedly demanded Rs 10,000 to show the inquiry report as positive. After negotiation, the bribe amount was reduced to Rs 5,000.
