Dholpur, June 20 -- A boy was beaten to death for allegedly refusing to work as a bonded labour in Dholpur district of Rajasthan, police said today.
The incident occurred in the Sadar police station area of Bari yesterday.
The boy's body was later recovered from a pit near Parvati River.
According to police sources, Kalyan Singh, the father of the deceased 12-year-old Saurabh, lodged a complaint stating that his son was forced to work as a bonded labourer, leading to his murder.
Singh alleged that he was unable to pay for the ploughing of his field, and in lieu of this, influential accused persons took his two minor sons, Gaurav (14) and Saurabh, to work as bonded labourers.
