Rio de Janeiro, Dec. 13 -- Botafogo has made a bid to sign Venezuelan forward Gleiker Mendoza, according to Brazilian media reports.
The 24-year-old is under contract with Venezuela's Angostura until December 2028 and has spent the past year on loan at Ukrainian club Kryvbas, scoring six goals and providing nine assists in 21 appearances.
Botafogo is looking to strengthen its attack after a disappointing 2025 season in which it struggled for goals.
The 2024 Brazilian Serie A and Copa Libertadores champions finished sixth in the domestic league and were eliminated in the round of 16 of the continental competition this season.
