Rio De Janeiro, April 21 -- Facundo Torres and Jose Lopez scored on either side of halftime as leader Palmeiras moved two points clear at the top of Brazil's Serie A championship with a 2-1 win
at Fortaleza.
Torres opened the scoring on the stroke of halftime by firing home from inside the six-yard box after Fortaleza failed to deal with a Richard Rios free-kick from the left wing on Sunday.
Lopez doubled the advantage just after the interval when he ran onto Estevao's pass on the counterattack and slotted a low finish into the far corner.
