Philadelphia, June 28 -- Botafogo manager Renato Paiva said Friday his side must consign its shock 1-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain to history if it is to overcome Palmeiras in the FIFA Club World Cup round of 16.
The Brazilian Serie A rivals will contest the first match of the knockout stage in a midday kickoff at Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday.
"We are proud to be here, we are ready to play this game and we're enjoying the journey," the Portuguese coach told a news conference.
"But I also told the players that we cannot continue to be in the shadows or to be complacent about the fact that we beat Paris Saint-Germain [1-0 in the group stage] and qualified from the group of death," he added.
