Aizawl, Dec. 23 -- Authorities in south Mizoram's Lawngtlai district on Tuesday sealed all entry points along the international borders with Myanmar and Bangladesh after two persons died and five others were hospitalised with symptoms suspected to be cholera or acute gastroenteritis.

District magistrate Donny Lalruatsanga issued the order as a precautionary measure following reports of fresh infections in Lawngtlai town.

Speaking over phone from Lawngtlai, Lalruatsanga said two persons had died recently, while five others showing similar symptoms were undergoing treatment at the Baptist Church-run Lairam Christian Medical Centre (LCMC).
